Ximena Echague grew up in Buenos Aires, became a photographer in Europe is now living between New York and Brussels.
She tries to capture this human dynamic in her photography, made of hopes fulfilled or shattered, with its drama and contradictions. The odyssey of human life.
Ximena has been trained in street and documentary photography by photographers from Magnum, In-Public, Leica Akademie and the International Center of Photography in New York.
Her work has been exhibited around the world in Europe, America and Asia, in Solo and Group exhibitions. It has been published by many prestigious international photography magazines. She won the Second Prize at the Brussels Street Photography Festival 2019, and was Finalist at the Miami Street Photography Festival, StreetFoto San Francisco, and Italian Street Photo.
Ximena is Ambassador and Juror of Women Street Photographers, based in New York; and Ambassador and Curator of Fotografas LATAM, Latin American women photographers.
Her photography is in the collection of the Museum of the City of New York.
