Jody Alexander is a book, fiber, and installation artist who divides her time between Penn Valley and Santa Cruz, California. She combines textiles and found objects to create wall pieces, books, sculptural objects and installations. Her current work is inspired by the art of repair, mending techniques, reuse, and imagery found in her surroundings and travels.

She has taught workshops throughout the United States as well as in France, and has given talks and co-curated an exhibit in Japan. Jody has exhibited her artwork throughout the U.S., and internationally including Japan, Italy, Great Britain, Turkey, and Belarus.

Jody was an artist in resident at the Santa Cruz Resource Recovery Facility in 2019, and was the 2015 recipient of the Rydell Visual Arts Fellowship. 

Her work appears in a number of publications including Masters: Book Arts: Major Works by Leading Artist, 500 Handmade Books, and 1000 Artists' Books: Exploring the Book as Art. She has pieces in numerous collections including Kaiser Permanente, Museum of Modern Art Library, the collection of Mary K. Austin, University of California, Santa Cruz, and University of California, Los Angeles.
